Training & Crates

  • A TRAINER

My Number one recommended item for people, when bringing a puppy home, is a trainer. And I am all about doing it yourself because a dog will respond better to YOU in the long run! Training is about educating the owner, not the puppy! Take advantage of this FREE beginners course through Dre @myloyalhound and her 4 week course that sets you up for ultimate puppy success! USE CODE DESERT30 for full 4 week course!

  • Crate

Crate training, in my opinion, is the best way to teach your dog boundaries and keep your new puppy safe. It provides them with a safe place to go when they are scared, overstimulated, or just dog tired! It sets boundaries while potty training! It has numerous benefits and in my opinion is absolutely necessary! This specific crate has 2 doors and a divider to grow with your pet!

  • Diggs Revol Crate

Hear me out! This crate is expensive but it’s also very easy to take down, to clean, and it is easier on the eyes than the wire crates. If you are planning on always having a crate for your dog, or planning on putting your crate in your main living areas this might be a crate that you consider. They are top of the line. I have loved mine!

  • Diggs Evolv

If you aren’t wanting to commit to the price of the Revol but still want someting with 2 doors and asthetically easy on the eyes, THIS is a perfect compromise. This crate is sturdy and durable and has to dual doors that makes it more versatile and it makes it easier to crate train! It is also easy to collapse and store.

  • Puppy Pal

These are great for transitioning the puppy to your home! Puppies are used to being around their siblings and some can have a harder time transitioning than others. The puppy pal is is a great way to help them transition those first few nights. It has a heartbeat and a heat pack to simulate a puppy.

Playtime, Enrichment & Training

  • KONG toy

Kong Toys are the best! There are not a lot of kong toys available on Amazon but this one is one of my favorites. They are tough, and this one has a rope in it that keeps it sturdy. Great for chewers and when they are teething.

  • Pupford Treat Bundle

My all time favorite training treats? Want to know why? Because they are the puppies all time favorite treats too! They love these! They are minimally precessed and small too! I always recommend training with kibble but these are great when learning a new trick or to really get their attention!

  • Zukes Training Treats

Zuke’s training treats are great for the little puppies. They are softer and easy to break into smaller pieces. making it easy for them to chew as they are teething.

  • Training Treat Pouch

These are perfect for the freeze dried pupford treats or Kibble. A handful in your pocket throughout the day can keep them watching you for cues all day long. They are ready and willing to please their ownders… especially if there is food involved!

  • Fan Favorite Collagen Sticks

All the puppies agree that you NEED these! These collagen sticks are great for when they are bored, ore when you need a break, or right before bed! I use these to help kennel train because they are the pefect item to keep them busy! They are great for car rides and traveling on a plane. Chewing helps calm nerves and can mentally stimulate the puppy resulting in a nap!

Unlike bully sticks these have no odor. They don’t chip off and break like raw hide either. They are they perfect chew treat in my opinion!

  • Leash and Collar

When it comes to getting a leash and collar it comes down to preference. Ths is a great starter leash and collar. The puppy will grow so fast in that first year that you will likely eventually have to get another collar as he/she becomes an adult.

  • Indoor leash

Indoor leash training can do WONDERS for your pup! You can get them used to going on walks before they can go outside, guide them to understaning commands using the leash, and most importantly tethering the pup to you so you know where your pup is at all times! Indoor leash trianing significantly reduces the occurances of potty accidents! If you think about it… if your pup was always within 6 feet of you what kinds of behaviors and bad habits could you avoid from forming! Freedom to roam the house is earned and the best way to set boundaries is by keeping your pup on leash!

  • Snuffle Mat

This is one of my favorite items! I have used this for over 20 litters and it is well made. It has held up for all of these years! I’ve tried other snuffle mats and none of them are as durable as this one!

A snuffle mat is great for rainy days, before bed, or when you need to get something done! Dogs love to use their noses and it lights up their brain to play “Sniff and Seek” After 20 minutes of this enrichment game your pup will be mentally exhausted. And sometimes its better for a pup to be mentally exhausted than physically exhausted!
